The Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards for the Durham, Sunderland & South Tyneside region were held last week at the Stadium of Light and hopes were high for everyone at Maxim following another successful year of the business. This year Maxim were nominated for the most prestigious award; Large Business of the Year 2021.

As last years event was cancelled due to the pandemic, the night was an excellent opportunity to return to normality and as expected was a lot of fun. Gilly Hope from Radio Newcastle welcomed the nominees and Grame Miller delivered an opening speech to the evening by sharing some stories from the past year. SAFC Legend Jim Montgomery was guest of honour.

Maxim were up against Nissan, Liebherr and Haskell Energy Systems for the Large Business of the Year Award, which was sponsored by Sunderland College.

Against tough competition Maxim walked away with the honours. The award recognises achievements over the last 12 months and comes from customer nominations.

Reflecting on the prestigious win Graham Conway, Managing Director had this to say:

Maxim FM have had a tremendous year, returning to growth following the pandemic impact and to then have an customer nominated award linked to our outstanding teams contribution is a real honour. Our culture of continuous improvement and the dedication of all our front line staff has been recognised by the presentation of this prestigious award. We’d like to thank all our staff that made this possible.
